Another Chicago Police Officer Murdered

The third Chicago police officer in two months was murdered on July 18th at his own home during a robbery.  Michael Bailey, 62, a 20 year veteran dies last Sunday just 4 weeks from his retirement date. Armed suspects accosted him (still in uniform) in his driveway shortly after 0600 in the morning to rob him of his new car just after he got off of work. An exchange of gunfire ensured and the suspects fled.  Click here and here for more details.  This murder follows on the heals of the shooting death of Officer Thor Soderberg on July7th and Thomas Wortham on May 19th.  ILEAS offers its condolences and mourns with Chicago PD and the families of the slain officers for their loss.
