ITC Tenants

To offset ILEAS Training Center (ITC) costs, ILEAS provides facility space for non-profit or government public safety related organizations.  These organizations pay lease and rental fees to ILEAS for office, storage or instructional space.  In turn, ILEAS reinvests those funds to improve the facility and continue its core training capabilities.  ILEAS collects approximately $90,000 annually in lease and rental fees.  Current tenants are:

Louisiana State University/National Center for Biomedical Research and Training (NCBRT) - NCBRT is a member of the Domestic Preparedness Consortium for the Department of Homeland Security.  It delivers national-level training to public safety agencies all over the world. ILEAS has partnered with NCBRT on two projects.  NCBRT brings their federally approved classes to the ITC.  Some of these classes include: WMD Tactical Operations, Advanced WMD Tactical Operations, Tactical Commander Course and more.  Additionally, ILEAS assists NCBRT as a shipping hub for course materials and supplies for the Midwest.  See their website at http://www.ncbrt.lsu.edu/Default.aspx

Illinois Medical Emergency Response Team (IMERT) - IMERT is a volunteer-driven organization consisting of hundreds of medical professionals including physicians, nurses, paramedics, etc.  IMERT is a State of Illinois emergency medical asset that has a national reuptation for excellence.  IMERT leases storage, office and training space from ILEAS. ILEAS and IMERT are also developing other cooperative programs to include the development of a medical simulation center at the ITC.  For more on IMERT, see www.imert.org

U.S. Army Joint Forces Command - Joint Knowledge Development & Distribution Capability - (JKDDC) - ILEAS provides office space to contractors for the US ARMY JKDDC.  The contractors work for Adayana (www.adayana.com), a government contractor that provides training software to the ARMY.  In fact, ILEAS and Adayana have a contract for them to develop virtual training for ILEAS' personal radiation detector program.

Urbana Association of Firefighters/Urbana Fraternal Order of Police (IAFF/FOP) - The IAFF and the FOP lease office, storage and meeting space from ILEAS at the ITC.  While financially beneficial to ILEAS, this arrangement also provides additional after hours security for the facility.

Subscription Rentals - ILEAS provides "subscription rentals" at the ITC in addition to leases.  Instead of paying a "per use fee,", agencies with subscriptions pay annually to use classrooms, meeting rooms and tactical areas throughout the year.  Agencies with current subscriptions are:

  • City of Urbana
  • Champaign County Sheriff
  • Champaign Police Department
  • Danville Police Department
  • University of Illinois Police Department
  • Coles County ERT
  • U.S Probation
  • Normal Police Department
