ILACP Funeral Assistance Team

On May of 2016, The Illinois Law Enforcement Funeral Assistance Team was put into place to assist all law enforcement agencies, within the State if Illinois, with Law Enforcement duty related deaths. The Illinois Chiefs of Police and the Illinois Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) have partnered together to provide support to families of our fallen law enforcement professionals and to the agencies that suffers a loss. Through the ILEAS call out system, any law enforcement agency can request the support of a trained team specializing in funeral operations and family support.

ILEAS welcomes Tom Gallahue as the new Regional Planning Coordinator for Region 4 in DuPage and Central Cook Counties

ILEAS is pleased to announce the addition of Tom Gallahue to our corps of Regional Planning Coordinators. Tom will soon retire from the Naperville Police Department after 31 years in Law Enforcement. He has an extensive background in Special Response Team leadership and has been the Team Commander for the WMD SRT in Region 4 since 2010. Tom was promoted to Sergeant in 1994 and served in both Patrol and Investigative assignments.

Winners of the ILEAS Conference Early Registration Drawing

On April 5th, the ILEAS Foundation Treasurer, Ralph Caldwell, drew five names from the 341 people who registered early for the ILEAS Annual Conference.  Those five individuals will have their Conference registration fee waived so they can attend for free.  The five winners were:

ILEAS Drone Training Bill Moves to Full Senate

On April 6th, ILEAS Executive Director Jim Page and ILEAS' legislative liaison John Millner testified at the Illinois Senate Criminal Law Committee.  ILEAS supported SB2588 which was sponsored by Senator Tony Munoz.  SB2588 amends the Freedom From Drone Surveillance Act (725 ILCS 167/) by adding a seventh exception for training.  As it s
