The tentative schedule is shown below. The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board has approved the conference for 7.5 in-service training hours.

Illinois State Police Office of 911 Administration partnered with DHS Office of Emergency Communications hosting Regional NG911 Workshops

NG9-1-1 Workshops

The Illinois State Police’s Office of the 9-1-1 Administrator, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Emergency Communications, is hosting regional NG9-1-1 workshops. Topics include: “Why NG9-1-1”, an “NG9-1-1 Overview”, “Existing NG9-1-1 Statewide Deployment Models”, “the ESInet”, “Technical Strategies”, “Network Management”, “Cybersecurity” and “Text to 911”.

VALOR For Blue Resources

The Bureau of Justice Assistance VALOR Officer Safety Initiative was created in response to the startling increase in felonious assaults on law enforcement officers.  VALOR is a comprehensive effort including classroom and web-based training, research and resources for state and local law enforcement officers.  VALOR partners with several national organizations such as the FBI, International Association of Chiefs of Police, ACP, National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, National Sheriffs' Association and others.  For more information, visit www.valorforblue.org.  Please click to review this document for more resources. 

Critical Incident Stress Management Combined Group Course

ILEAS has been asked to post the Critical Incident Stress Management Combined Group Course.  This training, available to anyone statewide, will be held April 27-29, 2017 at Argosy University in Schaumberg.  This training is being conducted by the Northern Illinois Critical Incident Stress Management Team from Elgin.  It is open to law enforcement, fire, EMS, mental health professionals, medical and disaster workers.  For more information and details, please click here for the announcement flyer.

FBI Law Enforcement Symposium

The FBI Springfield Division asked ILEAS to let our members know that they are holding a one-day symposium at the University of Illinois Springfield on January 4, 2017 from 0800 to 1715.  This symposium will bring together state, local and federal law enforcement to discuss intelligence, cybersecurity, child exploitation, violent crime and gangs, counterintelligence, terrorism and the recently produced traffic stop video, “Lights in the Mirror.”  Click here for further information.
