Description:

This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and abilities to rapidly deploy and neutralize violent offenders during active shooter incidents or mass casualty incidents in order to prevent the loss of innocent lives.  In addition to classroom instruction, the training uses numerous practical exercises to create a realistic training environment in active shooter scenarios, requiring students to use the knowledge and tools taught throughout the course.

Topics covered during the classroom instruction include the evolution of active shooter incidents, planning and implementing appropriate response measures to stop a perpetrator in order to protect innocent lives, and techniques for entry and clearing.  The program will also briefly address medical concerns often encountered during an active shooter incident.

The target audience includes individuals who respond to or support the response to any type of active shooter incident – state and local law enforcement, firearms instructors, school resource officers, and first-line supervisors
