Students will learn how to articulate elements sufficient to establish probable cause, withstand suppression issues and decreasing potential for civil liability. The training will also cover how to utilize information from confidential informants in search warrant preparations and how to properly sign up an informant, establishing their credibility and documentation in investigations. The course will be presented by Michael Halbleib, a Lt Colonel with the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit. He began his career with the Louisville Police Department in 1992 and was soon promoted to Detective with the Metro Narcotics Major Case Unit. Michael investigated numerous major case narcotic trafficking organizations and assisted in the prosecution and conviction of several criminal syndicates/conspiracies. He has been teaching in the field of narcotics for the community, police in-service classes and recruit classes for 16 years.
