Accepting Applications for Special Teams Technology Coordinator

The Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System is seeking an ideal candidate to fill the position of Special Teams Technology Coordinator. The position of Special Teams Technology Coordinator carries a very high level of responsibility to train officers in Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Weapons of Mass Destruction or Mobile Field Force tactics. The work involves course development, classroom instruction and physical skills necessary to increase the knowledge of law enforcement officers about fundamental Special Teams work as well as training simulations and exercises to develop officers’ skill levels. The Special Teams Technology Coordinator is the subject matter expert in the tactics, specialized CBRN equipment, techniques and procedures of ILEAS Special Teams. This position will be responsible for providing training, training development and Validation Exercise evaluations of ILEAS Special Teams. The ideal candidate will maintain a home office to accomplish many of the position responsibilities; will be available to travel in his/her personal vehicle throughout the State of Illinois as required. Please refer to the attached Job Description for additional detail on the position responsibilities. The Special Teams Technology Coordinator is a part time hourly position. Hours will vary but average approximately 20 hours a week. Please note that grant funding for the position is available through March 31, 2017, with no guarantees for funding further ahead. Qualified candidates should possess the following requirements: • A minimum of 10 years’ service as a sworn law enforcement officer • A minimum of eight years’ service on a WMD Special Response Team or equivalent team with concurrent WMD duties • Significant experience in Weapons of Mass Destruction training, curriculum development and instruction Salary and benefits include: •Salary is $33.75 an hour. •Jury Duty Leave: As summoned •Unemployment Insurance •Workers Compensation Insurance •Travel Reimbursement: Same as for State of Illinois Employees for authorized travel.
