Autism and the Law Enforcement Response equips law enforcement professionals with a foundational understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Participants learn how individuals with autism may behave, communicate, and respond in a variety of situations. The course addresses high-risk and crisis incidents and provides practical strategies to safely defuse and de-escalate encounters, along with effective approaches for interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects who have autism.
This 2026 complimentary training is made possible by the Less Lethal Alternatives for Law Enforcement grant awarded to ILEAS by the ICJIA.
