It presents detailed instruction in fundamental photographic principles and exposure to useful photographic accessories. The basic techniques and organized approach recommended for documenting incident scenes are introduced. In addition to novice crime scene specialists and forensic personnel, this training is well suited for investigators who have limited familiarity with photography equipment and would like to further enhance their skills. Students will work through a number of practical exercises and receive immediate feedback from instructors. Their photos will be printed and returned to them while they are still participating in the workshop – allowing instructors the best opportunity to evaluate student work and help them correct any deficiencies. It also provides the student with permanent reference materials that can used in the field. The 3-day workshop will be conducted by Imprimus Forensic Services out of Arlington Heights. Due to the hands-on nature of this training, enrollment will be limited to 22 participants. Each student is required to bring a camera (digital SLR preferred), a tripod, and an off-camera flash unit.
