On March 16, 2018, the Illinois Statewide Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC), Joe Galvin from the IL. Emergency Management Agency, issued an open letter to the public agency community in Illinois regarding FirstNet. Now that AT&T has been selected as the FirstNet provider and Governor Rauner signed the opt-in letter, public agencies in Illinois have the option of using FirstNet. A signficant effort has been made to educate the public safety community about FirstNet. However, now that it is actually here, we are sure that questions remain. Please click here to see the letter.
