ILACP Funeral Assistance Team

On May of 2016, The Illinois Law Enforcement Funeral Assistance Team was put into place to assist all law enforcement agencies, within the State if Illinois, with Law Enforcement duty related deaths. The Illinois Chiefs of Police and the Illinois Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) have partnered together to provide support to families of our fallen law enforcement professionals and to the agencies that suffers a loss. Through the ILEAS call out system, any law enforcement agency can request the support of a trained team specializing in funeral operations and family support. This team can reduce the draw on an agency resources in supporting a law enforcement duty related funeral and allow the fellow officers of the fallen to mourn. Resources include assistance in planning duty related law enforcement funerals, honor guard/color guard protocols, rifle teams, and family support information.
