After 46 years in law enforcement, Chief Mike Metzler of the Mahomet Police Department retired on September 30, 2025. In addition, he also resigned his post as president of the ILEAS Governing Board. Subsequently, at the December 11th meeting of the Board, Chief Dan Vittorio of the Oak Lawn Police Department assumed the role of board president. Chief Vittorio has been on the ILEAS Governing Board of four years, serving the last two years as vice president. ILEAS would like to thank Chief Metzler for his past service and wish him well as he enjoys retirement.
