On Saturday, July 13, 2024, 125 ILEAS officers traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to help with security at the Republican National Convention.
A contingent of approximately 75 Chicago police officers and an element of commanders from the Illinois State Police pushed the total team to over 200 law enforcement officers from Illinois, heading to help our neighbors to the north.
Beyond that, ILEAS support staff are also on site, assisting with planning, communications, and other support roles. The current plan has the team returning home on Friday, July 19, at the conclusion of the convention.
