Disaster Preparedness & Survival: A Guide for Individuals, Families and Communities (PER-334)

Event Info
Date:
Friday, September 11, 2026 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Description:

When it comes to disasters, it's not a matter of "if", but "when". The Disaster Preparedness and Survival course is designed to prepare individuals, families, and communities how to prepare for, survive, and recover from a disaster. When facing a disaster our choice often comes down to stay at home or evacuate. In this course participants will learn the logic behind the decision to evacuate or shelter in place and how to help themselves, their families, and their communities after the dust settles.

Through a combination of facilitated discussions and hands-on activities based on real-life scenarios, the instructors will demonstrate how planning, preparedness, and responsible actions may increase the chances of both surviving a disaster and recovering from it more quickly.
