Wednesday, September 9, 2026 - 8:00am to 4:00pm
Description:

Fundamentally, police officers are in the Human Behavior Business. They were created and exist because of other people’s behavior, behavior that needs, at the very least, mediation. To be proficient and successful in their profession, they must master comprehensive and practical interaction skills. Skills that can be utilized at any given moment in any given situation. Tactical Communication for the Street Officer teaches students the essential skills of communication that can be learned quickly and utilized immediately by officers interacting with the public. This class analyzes dozens of videos for analysis and addresses the following topics: reading body language & understanding nonverbal behavior, to include pre-attack indicators, building rapport, and detecting deceit; The four truths of interaction; and the seven principles of interaction.
