On October 23, 2025, sixteen high school students participating in the Early College and Career Academy (ECCA) at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, visited the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System’s Training Center in Urbana. The students from multiple local high schools learned about ILEAS, toured the facility, and participated in law enforcement-related exercises like room clearing and door breaching.
This Criminal Justice class is part of the Early College and Career Academy (ECCA) at Parkland College, a dual credit career pathway program for high school juniors and seniors. ECCA is a partnership between Parkland College, Education for Employment System 330, and local school districts. Students from 15 area high schools participate in one of nine different ECCA career pathway options. More information about ECCA can be found at www.parkland.edu/ecca.
