Submitted by mwatson on Wed, 10/28/2020 - 9:15am Event Info Date: Friday, May 21, 2021 - 8:00am to 4:00pmDescription: This program covers the concepts and practical application of TECC, as well as Officer-Citizen High Threat Casualty Extraction. Officers will learn how to treat the most commonly encountered wound patterns and how to plan and execute a citizen rescue. Scenario-based exercises will allow each participant to apply critical lifesaving skills in a dynamic patrol-based setting. On completion of the course, each participant will receive a TECC/TCCC approved tourniquet, a pressure bandage, and chest seals. Officers are required to bring their duty belt/gear and wear clothing appropriate for physically demanding scenario training. Due to the hands-on nature of this training, course enrollment will be limited to twenty-two (22) participants. The lead instructor for this training will be Justin Rottmann, a 20-year veteran of the fire service. He currently serves as a firefighter/paramedic for the Monarch Fire Protection District in Chesterfield, Missouri. Justin has also worked for the Grantfork Police Department since 2003 and has been part of the ILEAS Region 8 SRT since 2012. He currently serves as the Tactical EMS Team Leader. During the course he will be assisted by a law enforcement veteran with civilian EMS experience.
