Tactical Emergency Casualty Care

Event Info
Date:
Friday, May 21, 2021 - 8:00am to 4:00pm
Description:

This program covers the concepts and practical application of TECC, as well as Officer-Citizen High Threat Casualty Extraction.  Officers will learn how to treat the most commonly encountered wound patterns and how to plan and execute a citizen rescue.  Scenario-based exercises will allow each participant to apply critical lifesaving skills in a dynamic patrol-based setting.  On completion of the course, each participant will receive a TECC/TCCC approved tourniquet, a pressure bandage, and chest seals.

Officers are required to bring their duty belt/gear and wear clothing appropriate for physically demanding scenario training.  Due to the hands-on nature of this training, course enrollment will be limited to twenty-two (22) participants.

The lead instructor for this training will be Justin Rottmann, a 20-year veteran of the fire service.  He currently serves as a firefighter/paramedic for the Monarch Fire Protection District in Chesterfield, Missouri.  Justin has also worked for the Grantfork Police Department since 2003 and has been part of the ILEAS Region 8 SRT since 2012.  He currently serves as the Tactical EMS Team Leader.  During the course he will be assisted by a law enforcement veteran with civilian EMS experience.
